The Trinity ring: three golds, three meanings

Conceived in 1924 by Louis Cartier, the Trinity interlaces three distinct rolling bands: yellow gold for fidelity, rose gold for love, white gold for friendship. The trio turns freely around the finger — provided the mechanism is sound. Inside each band: the "Cartier" engraving, the 750 hallmark, the size and a serial number. The range lives as classic, small, large, pavé and XL. On the resale market, Trinity runs slightly larger than a standard band — always read the seller's stated size. New, the classic Trinity sits around €1,200; pavé versions climb sharply.

The Love ring: the discipline of the screw

The narrow sister of the Love bracelet, the ring repeats the screw-head motif. Thin, wide and wedding-band widths share the Aldo Cipullo language (1969). Authentication relies on the regularity of the screw motif, the depth of each head and the inner "Cartier 750 [serial]" stamp. At boutique, the thin Love starts around €1,400 in gold; pre-owned, €900-€1,200 depending on condition and size.

Juste un Clou, Panthère, 1895 solitaire

The Juste un Clou, revived in 2012, coils a gold nail around the finger; pavé versions add diamonds at point and head. The Panthère, a house emblem since the 1910s, appears as a three-band ring (yellow gold, onyx, emerald for the eye, diamond). The 1895 solitaire remains Cartier's historic engagement reference, four-claw set in platinum. Size, provenance, presentation box

Cartier uses European ring sizing: 49-54 for slim fingers, 55-60 for medium, 60+ for wider. The Trinity runs one notch larger than a standard band — check the seller's measurement. Rings shipped with the original red box and certificate of authenticity command the strongest resale.
