Pre-owned Givenchy Sunglasses — 4G, oversized | JoliCloset

Givenchy eyewear was long produced by Safilo, then by Marcolin from 2018 onwards, with a signature that swings between the metal aviator inherited from the Hubert de Givenchy years and the oversized black masks popularized by Riccardo Tisci. JoliCloset stocks more than 40 authenticated pre-owned Givenchy sunglasses, starting at $55 for classic models.

The key models

The 4G sunglasses, designed under Matthew M. Williams from 2020 onwards, place the monogram logo on temples in black or tortoiseshell acetate. Tisci's oversized masks, with thick frames and gradient lenses, remain a signature of the 2010-2017 aesthetic. Metal aviators and the occasional cat-eye appear in vintage editions. Materials and construction

Italian Mazzucchelli acetate frames dominate — a cellulose acetate recognizable by colour depth and hand polishing. Metal versions in titanium or stainless steel are less frequent but mark the premium editions. Lenses are signed Carl Zeiss or Nikon depending on era, with an internal stamp that's worth checking on second-hand pieces.

Prices on the resale market

A pair of Givenchy sunglasses trades between $55 and $220 depending on model and condition, against $260-$500 retail for new. Vintage Tisci pieces from the 2010s with imposing frames have become collector items and reach $260 in pristine condition with original case.
