I do not know if the novel "The Dream of Poliphile" (Venice 1467) deserves the adjective "most beautiful book in the world", but it is, in any one of the more mysterious and fantastic that is: This is a fight for love in a dream.
Poliphile dream of his beloved, Polia, but she appears totally indifferent to his advances. Thus begins a journey that will take him to Cythera, love the island.
