Hermès: superb and rare scarf titled "Au PAYS des ÉPICES" Signed Annie Faivre in 2001. Will be reissued in 2008. What blandness would our dishes have without all these grains, nails, berries and nuts that "raise" them, as we rise to a challenge! Glory to adventurers who conquer spices beyond the horizon. To bring back to our kings and our cooks, they faced the storm, endured the fevers, combattirent le serpent venimeux et ascending the privations. They were the heroes, whose exploits nourish our dreams before decorating our tables. It is quite possible that the first spices were known very early in Mesopotamia, because they were used in the temples. Transported by land or by sea, myrrh, incense, cinnamon, Cloves and other spices served to embalm the dead, while the living used them in medicine and culinary. Reserved for kings, spices were also used as a bargaining chip. The greatest explorers traveled on the spice route, discovering countries as they travel. They would go to great lengths to find spices, banishing their fears from unknown peoples and places. They planted, trade, transplanted ... For example, the explorer who discovered cloves, (was Pierre Peivre), continued to search for spices, not gaining any personal benefit from the factories he has implanted, just to share with the worlds his discoveries. The exotic and fragrant spices collected by Pepper still flourish today in the grapefruit garden in Mauritius. Annie Faivre, dialed on his square, a big wheel looking like a galleon bar, placing in context, the time they were transported by boat. This bar becomes then the receptacle of spices that it has on each triangle of the wheel on which are mentioned in the center, in medallion, the countries or islands where these spices develop. The name of each spice is given on the edge of the bar. Surrounded by a thin fuchsia margin, a plum background captures the entire drawing, not to mention the beautiful frieze that becomes a fancy necklace of pink peppers, hanging like little puppets, that we will find in a bouquet in the center, like a crater or a sun. I spoil you the description of the details and sumptuous color gradients used for saffron, the essence of bergamot, the Tonka bean.... The pictures speak for themselves… In a condition close to new(Worn very few times), label is present

Bien cordialement
