Pre-Owned Louis Vuitton Pochette Métis | JoliCloset

Launched in 2014, the Pochette Métis turned Louis Vuitton into a reference for structured everyday crossbody bags. Inspired by the original Métis (1990s), the current version adopts a compact format (25 × 19 × 9 cm), a flap with golden S-lock and three interior compartments. JoliCloset currently lists more than 200 pre-owned Pochette Métis bags, in Monogram canvas, Reverse Monogram and embossed Empreinte leather, from 2015 models to the recent Mini Pochette Métis and Métis East-West editions.

Variants and sizes

The standard Pochette Métis measures 25 × 19 × 9 cm — enough for a phone, a Sarah wallet, keys and a small accessory. The Reverse Monogram version (introduced in 2017) inverts the canvas colours and stays in heavy demand. The Métis Empreinte in embossed leather comes in black, navy, taupe and several seasonal colours. The Mini Pochette Métis (released in 2022, 19.5 × 11.5 × 6.5 cm) targets more minimalist profiles, while the Métis East-West offers an alternative horizontal silhouette.

Leather, canvas and care

Coated Monogram canvas remains the most durable option — practically immune to everyday scratches and wipeable. Embossed Empreinte leather gives a more discreet finish and a more premium feel, but stays sensitive to marks on light colourways (taupe, beige). On Monogram versions, monitor the natural vachetta leather patina at the base, handles and around the S-lock: it is the most visible wear point. The pink-powder microfiber lining is easy to clean but picks up ink transfers.

Pochette Métis authentication

The golden S-lock should feel heavy, be engraved Louis Vuitton on the back, and show no casting micro-burrs. Saddle stitches are regular (8-9 stitches per 3 cm), with a contrasting beige-orange waxed thread. The date code is engraved inside a zipped pocket, on a vachetta leather tab. The Monogram is strictly aligned at the side seams — any offset is almost always a counterfeit signal.
