Decors printed by screen printing and placed by hand. Gold net 24 carats applied by hand brush.
Free and joyful, horses gallop on the steppe, cross wooded hills. Dressed in ceremonial blankets of shimmering colors, they seem to have escaped from a Persian tale. Around them, seedlings of flowers and polychrome decorations enhanced with gold evoke the Silk Road and the conviviality of the Orient.
The Cheval d'Orient collection pays homage to the equestrian origins of Hermès and evokes the silk caravans and the conviviality of the Orient, drawing inspiration from Persian miniatures of the 15th and 16th centuries. It is based on technical prowess : The use of 29 colors on decorations specific to each of the 55 references for lunch, dinner, tea/coffee and decorative items. Cheval d’Orient revisits the shapes and dimensions of the great classics of Western tableware : cup on pedestal or tureen with elegant open handles.
