Glossy peach patent leather features Dior’s signature Cannage
stitching, with the surface catching and scattering light in shifting tones ranging from
coral to blush. A gold-tone snap closure secures the front, paired with a
matching keyring and the familiar letter charms that characterize Dior’s small leather
goods of this period. The single-compartment interior is lined in light peach
leather, clean and intact, with the original dust bag included.
The hardware shows only minor surface scratches at the closure, while the exterior
patent remains bright and even-toned throughout. There is no visible logo on
the outside—a detail consistent with mid-century Dior accessories—while the
serial code is discreetly stamped inside the fold.
The date code places this wallet in 1943, during the house’s early years,
decades before the Lady Dior would become a global icon. The Cannage motif,
later revived under John Galliano’s direction, lends an unexpected sense of
continuity—an early trace of the graphic language that would come to define
Dior’s modern accessories.
