That evening, Michel Gaubert mixed hysterical roaring engines and a reworking of Depeche Mode's "Behind the Wheel" to soundtrack Raf's race to the finish line, with a collection that streamlines traditional Dior imagery - flowers, lace, a rounded silhouette - for the twenty-first century.
Lace has never been part of Raf's lingo. However, for the Christian Dior Resort 2014 collection, Ricamificio Paolo Italy created a lightweight guipure with a floral pattern made up of solid stitches that create a three-dimensional effect. Dior then dyed part of the guipure, creating these colored stripes that highlight the embroidery.
