The gold-tone 4G push-lock clasp anchors the front of this structured black
leather top-handle bag, its compact silhouette defined by clean architectural
lines and a subtle dome to the upper panel. The smooth leather exterior is
paired with a squared gold-tone top handle, creating a graphic interplay between
metal and leather that signals Givenchy’s late-1970s design language.
Designed for handheld carry, the bag opens to a black leather-lined interior,
fitted with one zipped pocket and two slip compartments for daily organisation.
The hardware is executed in a bright gold tone, with the 4G logo plate on the
clasp providing understated branding in lieu of overt monogramming. No interior
label or stamp is visible, but the serial code is present beneath the flap.
This piece reflects the house’s accessory codes under Hubert de Givenchy, whose
era (1952–1995) favoured refined geometric forms and discreet logo treatments.
The squared 4G clasp and structured top-handle silhouette are both
characteristic of Givenchy bags produced circa the late 1970s to early 1980s, a
period marked by a focus on minimal, sculptural hardware and distinctly Parisian
restraint.
