Goyard Saint Louis

The Saint Louis is the iconic tote of Goyard, the Parisian malletier founded in 1853 on rue Saint-Honoré. Coated Goyardine canvas, hand-painted chevron motif, Chevroches trim and handles, canvas lining: this is the bag the maison never discounts, never sends to outlet, and never publishes a price for. The resale market is the only place to actually source it.

Colors most often in stock: black/havane (the most common), white, red, navy, sky, green, taupe. A handful of pieces carry a hand-painted monogram (initials of the first owner, sometimes with color stripes). Monograms slightly lower resale value when the initials don't match the new owner — but they remain sought-after as proof of the bespoke service.

Authentication. Every Saint Louis passes through our verification: Goyardine pattern (interlocking chevrons hand-painted, never printed), "Goyard Aine 1853" and "Maison fondée en 1792" stamps, Chevroches handle quality, canvas lining, sewn interior label, lock-stitch, original split screws. Counterfeits are numerous on this model: misaligned chevron paint, canvas thickness, and lining are the first signals. Across this perimeter, around 70% of Saint Louis pieces grade as good or very good condition, 12% as excellent or never worn, the rest as fair (corner patina is classic on coated canvas).
