This square was created on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of Texas independence. In the traditional crown of cacti, fruits, and flowers, the iconic turkey is set against a typical rocky backdrop. Spread across the four cardinal points and connected by a garland of wildflowers are the puma, the longhorn cow, the coyote, and the mustang, whose names remain indissolubly linked to the history of the country.
