Symbol of French tradition riding, the Cadre Noir school in Saumur welcomes on the track of the Grand Manège horses and riders in gala dress. Voltes, serpentines, spirals, diagonals, the figures executed by these high-flying squires and their mounts inspired Henri d'Origny with the volutes of Grand Manège. In this detail of the original drawing, the imagination focuses on equestrian ornaments. Rosettes and cockades, jaws and stirrups, leather and buckles ... They draw on the silk curves and lines that draw the horses on the occasion of these demonstrations of virtuosity.
