The red cocktail dress appears to be a simple dress mode of clean lines. But, in a typical Alber Elbaz manner, the piece is full of unexpected surprises. With the front left bare, the back of the piece is adorned with origami-esque pleated fabric, setting a statement as soon as the wearer turns around. Furthermore, two zippers are added—but these are located not in the front or back but both on the side (and fully functioning). As was one of Elbaz signifiers, the zippers are on show instead of hidden, and if opened, a stunning aubergine lining is revealed.
