Pre-Owned Escada Women's Jackets: Vintage, Bouclé, Blazer | JoliCloset

Founded in Munich in 1976 by Margaretha and Wolfgang Ley, Escada built one of the most distinctive readings of late-twentieth-century power dressing: saturated colour, technical wools, assertive shoulders and graphic prints worn by executives, first ladies and evening regulars from boardrooms to galas. Jackets sit at the heart of the Escada DNA, and the House remains one of the very few German labels that today shows up in high-end archive searches.

JoliCloset gathers 65 authenticated pre-owned Escada women's jackets, with prices running from 27 € for everyday tailored pieces to 1,600 € for embroidered or signature-wool models. Across the full Escada catalogue, 239 items are graded very good or excellent and 44 are never-worn — an unusual volume for a label with tightly controlled output.

Vintage Escada: the 1980s–90s archive

Escada's creative peak runs from 1985 to 1995, under Margaretha Ley's art direction. This is the period collectors search for: sequin-embroidered evening jackets on jewel-tone wool (sapphire, emerald, ruby), blazers in baroque prints (chains, medallions, equestrian motifs) and statement jackets with crystal and rhinestone buttons. These archive pieces have become their own collecting niche — impossible to re-edition, with finishing quality above recent seasons — and account for most of the Escada demand on the resale market.

Blazers, bouclé and tailored jackets

Beyond the archive, the catalogue carries the structured blazers Escada built its name on: clean cut, defined waist, silk or viscose lining, logo-engraved buttons. The bouclé jackets — wool and metallic thread woven together — pick up the Chanel-adjacent tradition Escada made its own, in distinctive palettes (powder pink, ivory, navy). To complete a head-to-toe Escada look, pair your jacket with an Escada skirt (40 pieces), tailored trousers (24 pieces), a dress (73 pieces) or a skirt suit, and layer under an Escada coat in colder months.

Authentication and condition

Every jacket is checked by our team: inner labels (the older "Escada Margaretha Ley" typography for archive pieces, the later flat label for 2000s+ seasons), wool hand, bouclé quality, lining seams, button engraving and sequin attachment. Condition is graded transparently — a critical detail on vintage pieces, where lining wear and embroidery integrity separate an investment from a garment that needs restoration.
