Pre-owned Givenchy Ankle Boots — Shark Lock, heel | JoliCloset

Givenchy ankle boots took hold as the house's rock weapon under Riccardo Tisci, then refined under Matthew M. The key models

The Shark Lock in smooth leather or suede, with its massive metal clasp on the vamp, remains the most identifiable boot of the 2020s. The biker boots with side buckles and lugged sole, inherited from the Tisci era, cross rock and tailoring. The sculpted-heel ankle boots in patent or black lambskin handle evening looks. Lambskin, calf and suede

Lambskin dominates on couture models — more precious but sensitive to abrasion. Smooth or grained calf covers the Shark Lock and biker boots — it ages better and keeps its structure. Suede appears on seasonal editions, worth protecting at the start of the season. Soles are produced in Italy; on second-hand pieces, check heel wear, Shark clasp condition and lining integrity.

Prices on the resale market

A pair of Shark Lock trades between $670 and $1,200 in good condition, against close to $1,800 retail. Tisci-era biker boots run from $330 to $670, and classic leather heeled ankle boots between $220 and $500. Tisci limited editions and suede Shark Lock pieces remain the fastest-selling.
