The essential models

The Tiffany Setting, with its six prongs and knife-edge profile, remains the solitaire benchmark: the elevated stone captures maximum light and the mount reads as unmistakably Tiffany from across the room. Soleste adds a cushion halo; Victoria delivers the marquise-cluster alternative. On the modern side, T1 and T Wire — designed by Francesca Amfitheatrof — stack easily for daily wear, while HardWear translates the ball-link into a ring. The Atlas band lifts the Roman numerals from Tiffany's 1983 watch dial. In silver, the Return to Tiffany ring and 1837 bands remain iconic gift choices, engravable on the inner surface.

Metals and price bands

In sterling silver 925, expect $180 to $600 for a second-hand Return to Tiffany or 1837 band. In 18K gold (750) — yellow, rose or white — T1 rings start around $1,200 and pavé versions climb past $6,000. In platinum PT950, a pre-owned Tiffany Setting trades from $3,500 (0.30 ct solitaire) to over $30,000 (above 1.5 ct, high colour and clarity). Authentication and hallmarks

Our gemmologists check the "Tiffany & Co." signature on the inner band, the metal hallmark (925, 750 or PT950) and any reference numbers. For solitaires we verify cert-to-stone concordance (the 4Cs — carat, colour, clarity, cut), prong integrity and the knife-edge construction. Rings by Elsa Peretti, Paloma Picasso or Jean Schlumberger also carry the designer signature.

Sizing, resizing and condition

US sizing is the Tiffany standard; the EU conversion is printed on every listing. Resizing is possible on most bands except fully engraved shanks, pavé-set styles or titanium. Silver develops patina naturally — we grade from Excellent (no visible wear) to Correct (noticeable marks) with close-up photography. Many rings ship with the original Tiffany Blue Box and blue pouch, which supports resale value.
