This is where the most recognisable silhouettes concentrate — Y-quilted Loulou, vintage-effect Niki, Cassandre-flap Sunset — and they often sell within days of listing.
The iconic models
The Loulou (launched 2017), with Y-quilting and the front Cassandre, remains the most commercial handbag in the line. The Niki (2018, 29 pieces) plays the vintage card with patinated leather and a leather-woven chain. The Sunset (37 pieces) is the discreet crossbody version, perfect for daily wear. The Cassandra (95 pieces) is the structured top-handle, Vaccarello 2020.
Sizes and formats
The Loulou comes in Toy (~20 cm), Small (~25 cm), Medium (~32 cm) and Bowling. The Niki splits into Baby (~28 cm), Medium (~32 cm) and Large (~35 cm). The Sunset exists in Small (~22 cm) and Medium (~25 cm). For everyday use, Medium offers the best compromise; Toy/Baby sizes are evening pieces.
Leathers: what to pick secondhand
The Y-grained calf on the Loulou handles wear very well and hides micro-scratches — the most durable secondhand choice. Smooth lambskin feels more luxurious but marks easily, best in very good condition. The vintage-effect leather of the Niki is meant to patina; wear marks belong to the aesthetic. Suede (Vicky, Joe) needs careful upkeep but delivers real visual impact.
Price and budget
A new Loulou Medium retails above $2,800; secondhand, budget between $1,200 and $1,900 depending on condition and leather. The Niki Medium ranges $1,300 to $2,000, the Sunset Medium $1,000 to $1,500. Saint Laurent shoulder, crossbody and top-handle bags cover the full price spectrum.
