Prada Cleo Tasche

The Prada Cleo resurfaced in late 2020 with The Show That Never Happened — the first Prada collection co-signed by Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons. Its hobo silhouette of curved lines on a rounded base revives a shape pulled directly from Prada's 1990s archive. Sizes and variants

The Cleo comes in several formats today: Mini (roughly 17 × 15 × 4 cm), Standard / Small (roughly 27 × 18.5 × 5 cm) and a Maxi released in 2022. Three architectures coexist: the classic Cleo shoulder with short strap, the flap version with a magnetic snap, and the chain shoulder bag built for evening. The enamelled Prada triangle sits flush on the front.

Brushed leather: the bag's signature

The Cleo is cut from spazzolato leather — a hand-brushed calfskin with a faint pearl finish and an unusually light hand. Distinctive of recent Prada collections, it resists deep scratches but can lose some of its lustre over time; a neutral leather balm is enough to revive the surface. The Cleo also exists in satin, in smooth nappa, and in crystal-embellished editions for evening dressing.

Retail vs. pre-owned price

At Prada boutiques, a Cleo Standard in brushed leather starts around €3,100 and climbs past €4,200 in nappa or exotic finishes. What to check before buying

On a pre-owned Cleo, look at: the magnetic closure (the snap should have a firm rebound, not a "soft" feel), the brushing quality of the leather along the edges, the integrity of the enamelled front triangle, and the leather lining stamped Prada Milano. Light oxidation on gold-tone hardware is consistent with a bag over three years old, as long as the plating stays continuous.
