The Céline Edge is one of the most radical silhouettes Phoebe Philo drew for the maison. Launched in 2013, it stands out through its inverted pyramid shape — wide base, pinched top — and its flat handle that doubles as the front flap. Discontinued after Philo's 2018 departure, it has become an archive piece collectors of the minimalist era seek out. Our catalogue holds 38 authenticated pre-owned Céline Edge bags.

A one-off silhouette

The Edge has no direct counterpart in the house. Its pyramidal structure, fully rigid, leans on taut smooth calf and a meticulous saddle-stitch construction. The integrated flat handle, which folds over to form the flap, hides a discreet magnetic clasp. Produced in two main sizes — Small (~24×18×7 cm) and Medium (~28×22×9 cm) — it ran in smooth box-calf, in Drummed Calf grained leather and in a handful of rare python or alligator editions.

Colours and materials

Hero colours remain black, deep burgundy, tomato red and camel brown. Smooth calf delivers a clean architectural read, perfectly aligned with Philo's minimalist approach. Grained-calf runs are rarer but more tolerant of daily use. Exotic editions, very limited, mostly turn up on the international secondary market.

Buying a pre-owned Céline Edge: price and scarcity

The Edge is no longer produced. On the secondary market, prices generally sit between €700 and €2,200 depending on size, material and condition of the smooth calf (fine scratches weigh heavily on this model). A Small in good condition trades around €800 to €1,200; a mint Medium often passes €1,500. Python and alligator editions can reach €4,000 to €7,000. Scarcity keeps tightening: every season trims the global pool.

Every Edge is checked before going live. Model-specific markers: perfectly regular pyramid (any deformation is suspect), tension of the smooth calf, mandatory CÉLINE Paris signature with acute accent (Philo-only model, always pre-2018), interior date code on a leather tab, metal finish of the hidden magnetic clasp.
