Bottega Veneta Arco Tote
Pre-owned Bottega Veneta Arco Tote | JoliCloset
Unveiled by Daniel Lee for autumn/winter 2019, the Arco launched the "New Bottega" era with a supersized, structured reading of the house's Intrecciato weave. Trapezoidal silhouette, rigid walls, two flat handles woven into the body and a central zip closure — it became one of the most photographed it-bags of 2020 and still ranks among the most hunted Bottega silhouettes on the resale market. We currently stock 98 pre-owned Arco totes, from €800 to €3,600 depending on size and condition.
The origin: Daniel Lee, 2019
Daniel Lee arrived at Bottega Veneta in 2018 and, by his second collection, put the Arco forward as the flagship of a new visual vocabulary built on volume, softness and a deliberately oversized intrecciato. The name — "Arco", Italian for arch — nods to the sculptural curve of the handles. The bag was quickly adopted by Rosalía, Hailey Bieber and Kaia Gerber, and helped secure Lee's Accessories Designer of the Year win at the 2019 British Fashion Awards. On our pre-owned Arco selection, pieces from the 2019-2021 Lee collections are the most sought-after today.
Sizes & intrecciato variants
Four sizes shipped in volume: Mini 32 cm (day-compact tote), Small 40 cm (the most-worn weekender), Medium / Arco Tote 48 cm, and Maxi 53 cm. Beyond the signature wide-band nappa, the house produced the Arco in pebbled calfskin, suede, rubber Intrecciato, woven canvas and East-West editions wider than they are tall. Fondant (deep tan-brown), black and white anchor the palette, joined by the Kiwi, Parakeet and Acid drops typical of the Lee era.
Retail vs secondhand value
Boutique retail sits around $4,100 for the Medium intrecciato leather and $6,300 for the Maxi Intrecciato — roughly €3,600 to €5,900 depending on size and finish. On JoliCloset, a pre-owned Arco starts near €800 for a well-worn Mini and climbs to €3,600 for a near-new Maxi, a 25 to 45% discount on boutique pricing. The most-requested configuration — Small Fondant nappa — trades between €1,400 and €2,200 on average.
Authentication markers
Our team verifies weave regularity (the intrecciato bands must be perfectly consistent in width and depth), the heat-stamped "Bottega Veneta Made in Italy" on the inner leather tab, the six-digit serial, the metal "Authentica" plate on post-2021 pieces, the Lampo zipper and the brushed-brass finishing. Pre-2020 Arcos show narrower bands than the Maxi Intrecciato editions released from 2020 onwards — a useful dating clue. Also browse the wider Bottega Veneta women's bags catalogue.
