Designed by Silvia Venturini Fendi in the early 2010s, the Fendi Way bag is a softer shoulder tote that shouldn't be confused with its more structured sibling, the By The Way. Where the By The Way leans on a boxy build with rolled handles, the Way takes a clean rectangular silhouette, round leather shoulder handles and an open top — an everyday carry sitting between Fendi's saddle-stitched heritage and its contemporary vocabulary.

Sizes and variants

The Way comes in three main formats: Small (~30 cm, snug shoulder carry), Medium (~35 cm, the most requested), and Large (~40 cm, office/weekend size). Colour palettes skew to worked neutrals — taupe, cognac, cream, black, lead grey — with brighter seasonal drops. The only visible signature is the FENDI metal lettering on the front: discreet, almost minimalist for the house.

Materials and finishing

The Way is mainly produced in smooth calfskin, vat-dyed through the grain, with occasional editions in grained calf, flannel and seasonal canvas. The fabric-lined interior gets a zip pocket and a leather key clochette. On the pre-owned market, watch the handles (the first wear zone on a soft tote), the edge paint and the evenness of the logo metal.

Price and resale value

At retail, the Way sat around €2,300-2,800 depending on size and leather.
