Isabel Marant Bekett Wedge Sneakers Pre-Owned | JoliCloset
The Isabel Marant Bekett is the sneaker that made the hidden wedge a cultural moment. When Marant launched the original in 2011, the silhouette was copied within a single season by every high-street label on both sides of the Atlantic — a low-top trainer built in suede and calf leather patchwork, laced conventionally, with a concealed 6-7 cm internal wedge that gave wearers a leg-lengthening stance without the aesthetic of a heel. Pre-owned, the Bekett typically sits between 150€ and 350€ versus a retail window of roughly 490-540€ when the line was current.
Sizes and variants
The Bekett runs EU 35 to 41 in standard width. Each listing notes the specific colour run — deep burgundy suede, stonewashed tie-and-dye denim, powder pink, black-on-black, off-white with a metallic tongue, cognac, navy, and the harder-to-find gold and silver metallic editions. Earlier runs shipped under the Bobby name; later productions carry the Bekett stamp inside. Hidden-wedge height is consistent across runs at 6-7 cm; the outsole is vulcanised rubber with contrast stitching at the side.
Materials and how they age
The uppers pair brushed suede with smooth calf leather panels, a combination that ages with visible softening around the toe box and tongue. Suede shows the heaviest wear on the Bekett's rear quarter and star patch; buyers looking for a broken-in pair should check this area before the laces. Leather panels hold up better and respond to a simple cream polish. Metallic editions are the most delicate — the foil finish abrades faster than matte suede.
Pricing and resale value
Discontinued Bekett colourways have become collectible. Rare metallic and tie-and-dye versions routinely resell above 300€, especially in never-worn condition. Standard tan-and-white pairs in very good condition settle around 180-220€. With the Bekett line rotating colours each season and long since replaced by the flat Bobby, the hidden-wedge silhouette is now exclusively a resale market.
Authentication points
Our experts verify the heat-stamped IM logo on the inner tongue, Portuguese or Slovakian stitching, the rubber midsole stamp, the interior label typography, and the construction of the wedge itself — cork core wrapped in stacked calfskin on authentic pairs.
