The Romy is Jimmy Choo's signature pump: a d'Orsay silhouette with side cut-outs, a tapered pointed toe, an ultra-thin sole and a sharply architectural stiletto heel. Launched under Tamara Mellon — the co-founder who set the London house's "sexy-minimal" identity in 1996 alongside Jimmy Choo himself — it served as the brand's reference pump for nearly a decade before being quietly phased out of the main collections around 2018. Heel heights and variants

Romy was produced in four heights: 60 mm (kitten, the rarest in resale), 85 mm (the day-to-day height, the easiest to wear), 100 mm (the evening and occasion version, the most widely distributed) and 120 mm (the editorial heel). Sizes in circulation run from EU 34.5 to EU 41. Romy heels dominate the selection; the occasional Romy ankle boot appears, built on the same last.

Materials: patent, suede, glitter

Three material families dominate. Patent leather in black, blush nude or lacquered red — the most iconic and the easiest to wardrobe. Matte suede, ideal for seasonal colours (navy, burgundy, grey). And the glitter version (paillette canvas in silver, gold, multicolour) that made Romy a sought-after evening pump. Metallic nappa, embossed python and patterned smooth leather show up periodically.

Pricing and scarcity

With Romy no longer in mainline production, resale is the way in. Well-kept 100 mm patent pairs trade around €250 – €350 on JoliCloset, against the €595 boutique price at the time of withdrawal.
