The Vitello variants

The Vitello family includes several sub-leathers: Vitello Phenix (semi-smooth, slightly satin finish), Vitello Daino (suede backed with calf, very soft), Vitello Move (matte smooth) and Vitello Soft. Depending on the finish, the bag drapes more or less firmly, but always more organically than a Saffiano. Bags often feature the front metal triangle and a removable shoulder strap.

Vitello vs. Saffiano

Saffiano holds its shape and resists scratches thanks to its waxed cross-grain finish. Vitello, a full-grain smooth calf, develops a more visible patina — it shows wear more but gains character with time. Pre-owned buyers looking for a more relaxed or archive silhouette favour Vitello.
