Prada's iconic models

The Galleria, launched in 2007 in Saffiano leather, takes its name from the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II in Milan, where Mario Prada opened his first boutique in 1913. Structured silhouette, slim handles, enamel triangle plaque — it is the house "business bag". The Re-Edition 2000/2005, pulled from the archives in 2019, single-handedly reignited the Prada Tessuto-nylon craze and now ranks among the most-searched pre-owned pieces. Prada leathers: Saffiano, Vitello, Tessuto

Saffiano, trademarked by Mario Prada in the 1910s, is a cross-grained calfskin extremely resistant to scratches — the DNA of the Galleria. Vitello groups the smoother calf leathers used on sportier and unstructured bags. Tessuto, the technical waterproof nylon, is the other signature: light, hard-wearing, now also offered in recycled ECONYL on the Re-Nylon line. The Cleo's spazzolato is a brushed calf that patinas beautifully with use.
