Pre-Owned Prada Backpacks — Vela, Re-Nylon | JoliCloset

JoliCloset gathers more than 500 pre-owned Prada backpacks, all authenticated. The backpack is a historic Prada category — it was with the legendary Vela nylon Tessuto, launched in the late 1980s by Miuccia Prada, that the house truly shifted into the contemporary luxury era.

Iconic models

The Vela in Tessuto nylon remains the signature backpack: soft silhouette, stitched-on metal triangle, adjustable straps, Prada-Milano-printed lining. The Re-Nylon line, launched in 2019 in regenerated ECONYL, delivers the responsible-luxury version. Saffiano backpacks bring a more structured, formal angle. Men's editions often add a matte finish and a band-logo treatment.

Materials and finishes

Tessuto nylon (the historic signature), Re-Nylon ECONYL (recycled version), cross-grained Saffiano and smooth calf. The metal triangle on the front face and the printed lining are the most recognisable authentication marks.

Pre-owned pricing

Retail places Prada backpacks between $1,750 (classic Vela nylon) and $3,000 (large Saffiano). On JoliCloset they start near $140 for well-worn vintage Vela, around $350-$700 for Re-Nylon in good condition, and up to $1,300 for recent Saffiano.

Authentication
