Chanel Black Leather Ankle Boots Black

Pre-Owned Chanel Ankle Boots Authenticated | JoliCloset

The Chanel ankle boot carries the house's founding gesture into winter: the bicolor toe cap that, in 1957, turned the beige slingback with its black tip into one of the most copied shoes of the twentieth century. Applied to a bootie, the same grammar — light upper, black cap — slims the ankle and lengthens the leg. A new pair of Chanel ankle boots starts around $1,050 in boutique and climbs past $2,200 for tweed or Métiers d'Art editions. Buying pre-owned opens access to Lagerfeld-era, Viard and Blazy silhouettes at materially lower prices, with each pair authenticated before it goes live.

Signature silhouettes

Six shapes come up repeatedly. The bicolor beige-and-black ankle boot, a direct descendant of the Coco pump. The CC-detail calfskin or lambskin bootie with a small gold logo on the toe or heel. The Lagerfeld combat boot, lugged sole, strap buckles, often in quilted leather. The tweed ankle boot from Métiers d'Art capsules. The sock boot with a stretch-knit shaft and a structured leather toe, CC at the ankle. And the runway platform boot, rarer on resale. Our pre-owned Chanel shoes catalog mirrors this range, from pumps to boots.

Materials & craftsmanship

Chanel uses glove-soft lambskin, box calf, kidskin, patent leather, suede, Parisian-woven tweed and, more rarely, technical mesh. Production happens exclusively in Italy or France — any "Made in" stamp from elsewhere on an ankle boot should be a hard pass. Heels range from a 25 mm flat to an 85 mm block; the insole is engraved leather and the outsole leather or rubber depending on the model.

How to authenticate

Look inside: the CHANEL wordmark is engraved thin, narrow and shallow — a thick or puffy 3D imprint signals a fake. Size and origin stamps on the outsole read crisp, with no ink bleed. Heel-stack stitching is even, and the welt is cleanly joined without visible glue residue. Critical to know: a genuine Chanel ankle boot is never shipped from the boutique with an authenticity card — a seller volunteering one is a red flag. Look instead for the box, dustbag and original receipt.
