Hermès Oran Sandals Pre-Owned | JoliCloset

Designed in 1997 by Pierre Hardy for Hermès' Africa-inspired collection, the Oran takes its name from the Algerian coastal city and its silhouette from a single H, cut in one piece across the vamp. A flat leather sole, no embellishment, and a resale season that never quite ends. JoliCloset currently lists 78 pre-owned Hermès Oran sandals, part of 268 Hermès women's sandals in stock.

Sizes and fit

The Oran runs in French (FR) sizing from 35 to 42 and is generally true to size; size up half if your feet are wide or you sit between sizes. The strap width, sole thickness and arch profile have not changed since 1997 — pairs from the early 2000s and 2026 boutique stock fit identically, an unusual advantage on the secondary market. Oran Nano adds a low platform, Oran Birel adds a small cut-out under the H, but the original silhouette remains the volume seller.

Leathers and seasonal materials

Hermès has produced the Oran in almost every leather it works with. Box calf is the heritage option: smooth, glossy, taking a quiet patina with wear. Epsom is grained and more structured, holds bright colours best, and resists scuffs. Swift reads matte and very soft. Veau velours (suede) is the cold-weather variant. Seasonal drops add canvas, denim, woolskin shearling, plus crocodile and lizard at the top of the range. On the resale market, Box and Epsom move fastest; suede needs a careful owner but holds value in signature shades (gold, black, midnight blue).

Pre-owned price band and value

The Oran has nearly doubled at retail in five years: $680 in 2022, $800 in 2025, around $900 / €635 in 2026. On JoliCloset, pre-owned Oran sandals start around $320 in good condition and reach over $1,100 for rare colourways or exotic skins. The boutique-versus-resale gap is wide enough to make a careful pre-owned buy genuinely sensible — particularly for last-season colours that retail no longer stocks.

Authentication and what to check

On a genuine Oran, the H cut-out is sharp and clean, with no visible glue or fraying along the edge. "HERMÈS PARIS" and the country line ("MADE IN FRANCE" or "MADE IN ITALY") are heat-stamped into the insole with even spacing. The size and the date letter/year code are blind-stamped into the arch. Our team verifies every pair, but the strap-to-sole junction and the back-of-foot wear pattern are worth a second look on older pairs. Light patina on Box calf is normal and does not diminish the piece.

Selling your Oran

Oran sandals resell quickly in classic neutrals (gold, black, white, navy) and in seasonal Epsom shades. If your pair is in good condition, list it on JoliCloset — our experts authenticate, photograph and place it in front of an international audience of Hermès buyers.
