Christian Dior Denim Jacket and Transformable Trousers Set Brown Blue Leather

Rare archive ensemble from Christian Dior Boutique Paris, designed by John Galliano for the Spring-Summer 2000 collection.

This two-piece set consists of a short dark blue denim jacket and transformable trousers with removable legs, which can also be worn as shorts.

The jacket features a structured cut typical of Galliano's work at Dior in the early 2000s: large pointed collar, chest pockets with flaps, numerous contrasting ochre topstitching, gold-toned Christian Dior branded buttons, waist tabs, and gold-toned metal ring details on the sleeves.

The trousers are the most spectacular part of the set. The legs are entirely removable via zippers at the thighs, allowing the trousers to be transformed into micro-shorts. The legs are adorned with large camel/orange leather panels and laced details at the ankles. Metal zippers and contrasting topstitching emphasize the utilitarian and sexy aesthetic characteristic of this Dior period.

The transformable construction of the trousers is directly linked to the Christian Dior Spring-Summer 2000 collection, in which several silhouettes featured shorts paired with detachable legs.

This denim line is also documented in runway archives, advertising campaigns, and celebrity photographs of the era. A jacket model from this collection was notably worn by a member of the group Destiny’s Child, as seen in an archive photograph. Similar jackets also appear in Dior campaigns from this period.

Very beautiful vintage condition considering the age of the piece. The denim, topstitching, buttons, and metal elements are well preserved.
