Loewe, 1846 Madrid: jewellery as a leather artefact

Born in 1846 in Enrique Loewe Roessberg's Madrid workshop, Loewe is a leather house first. Jewellery holds a particular place here: it's conceived to extend the silhouette of the bag, not to compete with it. Under Jonathan Anderson (2013-2023), the department crystallised around three families — Anagram, Pebble and the anthropomorphic pieces (Bunny, Elephant, Fox) — and David Herrero has continued that line since 2024 with Proenza Schouler's Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez at creative direction.

Bag charms, bracelets, earrings: the categories

The bag charms (50 pieces) are the standout: Elephant, Bunny, Fox, mushroom and Pebble charms in leather, crystal or woven raffia, from €130 in good condition. Bracelets (36 pieces) run from leather cuffs and braided Knot bracelets to silver Pebble designs. Alongside: earrings (12), necklaces (10), rings (10), pins & brooches (11) and pendants (5).

Materials and authentication points

The range blends solid sterling silver, brushed brass in rose-gold or palladium finishes, nappa and goat leather, woven raffia and crystals (often Swarovski). On every piece, our experts check: metal hallmarks (925 for silver, engraved Loewe stamp), Anagram embossing on leather, clasp mechanism (lobster, snap, T-bar), and weight and hand of the chains.
