Gabrielle Chanel opened her first shop on Rue Cambon in 1910, and for more than a century the house has held to the same grammar: black and white, quilted diamonds, camellia, interlaced chain, double-C clasp. Karl Lagerfeld carried the codes from 1983 to 2019, Virginie Viard from 2019 to 2024, and Matthieu Blazy took over creative direction in late 2024. The original 2.55 (75 pieces), launched in February 1955 and reissued in Reissue form, is recognisable by its Mademoiselle rectangular clasp and burgundy lining.
