Silhouettes: from long tweed to cocoon and cape

The coat wardrobe spans several archetypes. The knee-length or three-quarter tweed coat remains the most sought-after. The cocoon coat, a Karl Lagerfeld signature, plays on an oversized rounded-sleeve silhouette in wool or tweed. Authentication

An authentic Chanel coat carries a white interior label with "CHANEL" stitched in black and a season code (22P spring, 23C cruise, A autumn, V resort, M for Metiers d'Art). Sizing is European (36 to 44), the care label is printed in French, buttons are enamelled CC, lion heads or camellias, the hem chain is present on tweed models, and the origin label reads Made in France or Made in Italy only.
