This carré celebrates early America under George Washington, the first President of the United States (1789–1797), drawing inspiration from the art of paper cutting. Created from folded sheets that are finely cut, this folk art reveals simple and delicate patterns, evoking the gentleness and family values of the time. Today preserved in folk art museums, these creations inspired Françoise de la Perrière.

Published in 1981, never reissued.
