In bavaria, at the beginning of november, many towns celebrate Saint Leonard who watches over the cattle, horses and farmers. Since the 15th century, this event gives rise to a very beautiful procession of richly decorated teams. Still, especially in the town of Bad Tölz whose procession is the most famous, men and women don their regional costumes and parade, for hours, in sleighs painted with traditional folk motifs. Horses are adorned with their finest attire. This embroidered leather harness, decorated with badges, fringes and tassels is a very good example.
