Hermès Evelyne Bag

Designed in 1978 by Évelyne Bertrand, then head of Hermès' equestrian department, the Evelyne began as a saddle bag for brushes and curry combs. Its front face cut with the perforated H and its long shoulder strap make it the most recognizable leather crossbody in the maison. Evelyne sizes and generations

The number indicates height: Evelyne 16 (mini, 2018), TPM 17, PM 29, GM 33. The Evelyne III, introduced in 2003, added a back zip pocket and a snap closure. The Sellier finish, rarer, displays exterior saddle stitching. Strap is fixed webbing or leather, adjustable.

Hermès leathers

The Evelyne is mostly built in Clémence (soft, the most common), Taurillon Maurice (modern, matte), Epsom (structured), and more rarely Vache Hunter, Crinoline (canvas + leather) or seasonal grained leathers. Discontinued colorways (Bleu Atoll, Anémone, Vert Fizz) remain the most coveted.
