Pre-Owned Louis Vuitton Keepall Bag | JoliCloset

The Keepall is Louis Vuitton's original duffle: created in 1930 by Gaston-Louis Vuitton in response to the rise of air travel, it was the bag that replaced the hard trunk with a soft carry. Over 1,650 authenticated pre-owned Keepall bags are listed on JoliCloset today, from the cabin-friendly 45 to the long-trip 60, in Monogram canvas, Damier Graphite, Eclipse and Epi leather.

Sizes 45, 50, 55, 60

The Keepall 45 (45 × 27 × 20 cm) is the cabin size — accepted as carry-on by most airlines. The Keepall 50 adds volume for a 3-4 day trip, the Keepall 55 is the archetypal weekender, and the Keepall 60 tips into long-haul territory. Since the 1980s the Bandoulière version adds a removable strap and signed luggage tag. Compare with our Speedy, the Keepall's direct descendant.

Canvases: Monogram, Damier Graphite, Eclipse, Epi

The Keepall comes in historical Monogram canvas, in Damier Graphite (2008, grey-and-black, more discreet), Damier Eclipse (2017, contrast grey-and-black) and blue Damier Cobalt. Bandana, My LV World Tour editions and Supreme/Virgil Abloh collaborations sit as collectibles in their own category. Epi leather, in black or colour, stays rare in large format.

Pre-owned vs retail pricing

A new Keepall 50 Monogram retails above €2,000 in boutique. On JoliCloset, authenticated examples start from around €600-800 for vintage pieces and €1,200-1,700 for recent excellent-condition ones with the signed luggage tag. Virgil Abloh editions and limited collaborations frequently trade above €3,000.

Authentication

On Keepall bags produced before 2021, the two-letter four-digit date code is heat-stamped on a leather tab stitched inside near the seam. Newer pieces carry an embedded RFID chip. Our experts check the saffron-yellow stitching at regular intervals, the Vachetta leather of the handles and base, the heat-stamped "LOUIS VUITTON Paris made in France" mark, the signed zipper and Monogram alignment on the side panels.
