Louis Vuitton Monceau Bag

The Louis Vuitton Monceau is a 1980s classic named after Parc Monceau in central Paris. A structured top-handle bag with a removable shoulder strap, twin leather buckles and a padlock front closure, it carried the maison's working-bag vocabulary through two decades before being phased out. Three main sizes. The Monceau 26 (26 × 19 × 7 cm) is the most common — half briefcase, half handbag. The Monceau 28 (28 × 21 × 8 cm) takes A5 and slightly more. The Monceau BB, a more recent compact reading in Epi leather, brings a modern interpretation. All share the same language: twin leather handles, detachable strap, two front metal buckles and a centre pleat that gives the silhouette structure.

Monogram canvas and Epi leather

The coated Monogram canvas is the most common version, with vachetta cowhide trim and handles that turn honey-colored over time. Epi leather (black, cassis red, navy, fir green, Tassil yellow) is highly water-resistant and keeps its through-dyed colour intensity.
