The Prada Re-Edition 2005 is the 2019 revival, overseen by Miuccia Prada, of a nylon mini hobo pulled straight from the house's early-2000s archive. JoliCloset currently lists 257 Re-Edition bags, averaging €1,321, alongside its older sibling, the Re-Edition 2000, evidence of just how sought-after this Re-Nylon shape remains on the pre-owned market.
Versions and sizes
The 2005 is the more practical of the two: a rounder, roomier hobo shape closed with a chunky nylon-and-leather chain, and it originally shipped with a detachable pouch clipped on by a saffiano leather keyring, handy for splitting out cards and keys. The 2000, the older archive piece, is flatter and more minimal, worn tight under the arm on a thin strap, with noticeably less capacity than the 2005. Prada later extended the family with the Multi Pochette, a trio of miniature pouches that borrows the same chain hardware in a scaled-down format, plus seasonal chain-length variations across both bags.
Materials guide
Re-Nylon is still the defining material: a regenerated nylon spun from ocean plastic, reclaimed fishing nets and textile waste, which Prada launched as a program in 2019. For a pre-owned buy, it ages well, it doesn't crack the way leather does, and wear tends to show at the corners and base seams rather than across the surface. The saffiano leather trims on the zips and handles mark more easily, so it's worth checking those close-up in listing photos. The range has since grown to include full-leather, satin, terry and crystal-embellished versions, rarer, more delicate pieces best suited to collectors rather than everyday carry.
Price and value on the pre-owned market
Average pre-owned price on JoliCloset sits at €1,321, with Re-Nylon typically trading below full-leather or crystal editions. A new 2005 now retails above €1,700 in boutique, and the 2000 sits closer to €1,000, so buying pre-owned is a meaningfully cheaper way into the line. Several discontinued boutique colourways, certain seasonal pinks, blues and yellows, now surface almost exclusively on the resale market, which keeps demand for well-kept examples high.
How to authenticate a Re-Edition
The enamel triangle logo plaque should sit flat and smooth, with no bubbling, and its colour should match the surrounding leather trim. Inside, the tag reads 'Prada' with the model year, '2005' or '2000', stamped in a crisp, even font. The bag's silhouette should stay rounded when viewed from the front; an overly angular shape is a common tell on fakes. For comparison, our Prada Saffiano bags share the same grained-leather details, while Prada Galleria and Prada Cleo round out our pre-owned Prada bags catalogue.
