Pre-Owned Saint Laurent Sunglasses: SL 28, SL 276 | JoliCloset
Saint Laurent Eyewear is licensed to Kering Eyewear since 2017. The collection follows two schools: the clean acetate silhouettes from Hedi Slimane (SL 1, SL 28, SL M40) and the oversized versions from Anthony Vaccarello (SL 276 Mica). 61 pre-owned pairs on JoliCloset, from icons to seasonal cat-eyes.
Models to know
The SL 28 is the modern acetate aviator — chunky frame, flat temples, discreet YSL plaque. The SL 276 Mica is the oversized cat-eye that became Vaccarello's signature, in black, tortoise, clear. The SL M40 revives the vintage panthos shape. Wayfarer-shape models (SL 51) revisit the 2010 Pilati code. Slim metal editions (SL 233) play the minimalist card.
Materials and finishes
Italian acetate dominates the collection: black, brown tortoise, honey, clear. Metal editions come in gold-tone or ruthenium stainless steel. Lenses are CR-39 or polycarbonate, with anti-reflective treatment on premium versions. The YSL plaque is engraved on the temple, except a few models with visible gold logo.
Authentication
The serial code is engraved inside the temple, formatted "SL XXX" + colour + dimensions. Hard black case, microfibre soft sleeve, optical certificate. The most common fakes overlook the precision of the engraving, the acetate thickness and hinge quality. Our experts inspect every pair before listing.
Pre-owned pricing
A new SL 276 Mica retails at $325 in boutique; secondhand it lands between $100 and $200. SL 28 and SL M40 range $120 to $240 depending on lens and frame condition. Limited editions and discontinued colours climb higher. Saint Laurent accessories round out the selection.
