The Gucci Blondie debuted on Alessandro Michele's Love Parade Spring-Summer 2022 runway, built around the Round Interlocking G medallion first introduced in 1971. A direct nod to Gucci's seventies archive, it quickly became a post-pandemic it-bag, carried by Elle Fanning and Florence Welch. The line covers several silhouettes: round shoulder bag (28 × 18 cm), mini shoulder (22 × 14 cm), top-handle, trapeze messenger, hobo, belt bag and small leather goods. Straps range from a fine gold chain to a flat woven leather strap. The round shoulder bag is the most photographed version; the mini is the easiest to carry day-to-day.

Materials and finishes

Smooth calfskin dominates the line — black, optical white, red, camel, burgundy — followed by suede (highly sought on the secondary market), GG Supreme beige/ebony canvas and a handful of topstitched monogram editions. The Round Interlocking G medallion, in brushed gold or silver metal, sits centred on the closure tab. The beige microfiber lining typically houses one zipped patch pocket.

Price and value on the pre-owned market

Boutique retail on the shoulder bag is around £2,880 (≈ €3,300), the small around £2,530. How to authenticate a Blondie

The Interlocking G medallion must sit perfectly centred on the tab, with sharp, deep engraving. "Gucci Made in Italy" is heat-stamped on the interior leather tab, followed by a 7-digit serial. The leather should feel supple with an even grain, the magnetic closure hidden beneath the medallion should click smoothly, and the brass base feet should be solidly riveted.
