Hermès: Beautiful and rare silk collection square, titled

Created by Julie Abadie in 1982. Will be reissued in 2014, which attests to its success.
Embroidered with gold or wool, decorated with animals and stylized flowers, geometric patterns, straight lines or arabesques, these four aprons pay tribute to the inhabitants of the shores of the Aegean Sea. In the center, surrounded by belt buckles, an amulet protects evil spells! The economic expansion of Greece, From the 18th century, maritime trade with the Mediterranean countries, generate a prosperity that is reflected in particular in the ornamentation of traditional costumes. A strict symmetry characterizes the patterns of these aprons from Thessaly, Argos or Arachova. Doors, always, on skirts or dresses, their symbolism is multiple and their scenery varied. They go through the hours of the day and the periods of life: age, social status, seasons and holidays.
The colors are beautiful and refined. The central panel highlights the other colors.
