Description
Hermès: Fabulous damask silk scarf, titled "Christopher Columbus discovers America 12 October 1492"
Signed Carl de Parcevaux in 1992.
The illustrious Genoese sailor sailed the seas for the glory of his "sponsor" Isabelle la Catholique, queen of castile. Could he guess that his discovery would establish the modern world ? Discover America, it was bequeathing us Abraham Lincoln and Margaret Mitchell, Louis Armstrong and Gary Cooper, Edgar Poe and the cornflakes, Buffalo bill, Moby dick, And much more…
It was to invent the means to dazzle us in a masterful and definitive way.
Mouse gray margin, Pink frieze, Background commemorating 500 years of the discovery of America. To do this, Hermès has chosen a richer silk, damask of schooners which is no longer produced as its production would be expensive.
Indescribable scarf so rich in color and detail. A real "painting" whose photos speak for themselves...
