Mr Loyal, master of the slopes, has not yet put on his gleaming Brandenburg jacket. Soon, he will present with trumpets and cymbals the artists and their numbers, and will undoubtedly give the clown the answer, Always quick to create a happy mess. But it's time for training. The stars of the circus, men and animals apply to their task. Lions and panthers practice walking to the rhythm of the orchestra on a giant wheel, the trapeze artists are preparing to take off in the air, upperrs advance on huge balloons and tightrope walkers wrap around their hoops. In the 18th century, the equestrian shows begin the advent of the circus we know today. Englishman Philip Astley sets up his carousel in the Faubourg du Temple in Paris, and soon, the Franconi will succeed him. Gradually, the place given to horses will diminish in favor of jugglers, acrobats and other clowns. At the end of the 19th century, the menageries will appear.
Performing Arts, terribly demanding, the circus has evolved over time. Inventive step, he's always pushing the art of mixing physical performance and entertainment.
