Sebastian Münster was a cartographer, historian, astronomer, mathematician and teacher of Hebrew. EN 1544, his book Cosmographia Universalis is published for the first time in Germany. It was one of the most widely read books of the 16th century. When Jan Bajtlik discovers an original edition in a library in Poland, he is fascinated by this vision of the world made up of myths and legends. Its square represents an imaginary landscape and mixes architecture, flora and fauna. Taking as models the seahorses, sea monsters or pyramids of the work, he creates a dreamlike universe populated by extraordinary creatures.
