"Rêve d'Australie" is a superb collection of scarfs by Zoe Pauwels signed in 1999. Unique edition.
Just before the Olympic Games were held in Sydney in 2000, Zoe Pauwels pay homage to indigenous culture with this scarf.
This scarf is a ARBORIGENE dream and the Hermès booklet 'History of scarfs made in 1999/2000' states that: The word "Aborigine" is synonymous with "native". Here is "dreamtime" or dreaming in action. Acting around Baiame, great creative mind and under the patronage of the totemic animals (snake, crocodile, kangaroo and eagle), the divine dream creates lakes and mountains, finding echo in the human soul, thirsty for harmony in the art of living. "
Surrounded by an elegant dark brown, almost black margin; this indescribable scarf by Zoe Pauwels used the style of "indigenous" paintings where stylized animals and birds are created with intricate stripes with "points choreographed" in a range of colours that I will not list because they are too numerous. The drawings of animals are wonderful swirling details.
This fabulous and luxurious scarf is a marvel that would be a great gift!
