HERMÈS: Superb collection square titled "The Triumph of Paladin"
Created by Julia Abadie in 1999. Will be reissued in 2002, which attests to its success.
It is the Faith slaying the dragon of ungodliness. Georges, Prince of Cappadocia, was honored by two of the greatest peoples of the Earth: the Greeks first, who hailed in him the "megalomartyr", then the English who chose him as patron saint. Out of the Cretan icons of the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries, and in a setting borrowed from a reliquary of the Holy Cross, here in action is this hero of chivalry, dedicated to defending the weak.
This square was part of 5 other squares ("KOSMIMA", "Byzantine skies", "Skyros", "Golden strands", "1821"), of the unprecedented exhibition "The Museum Out of the Box", for the 35e anniversary of the Benaki boutique "From Antiquity to Modern Design".
Maison Hermès has indeed participated in this exhibition with these six silk scarves that have been designed by the Greek artist and designer Mrs. Julia Abadie. Each
featured in the exhibition featured distinct elements, designs that could be found in the exhibits in the permanent collection of this historical museum in Athens, Greece.
Spectators could easily recognize and appreciate the inspiration of these artifacts and the Greek heritage on modern art.
On this square surrounded by an orange margin and a jeweled frieze, we discover 5 riders armed with swords and spears and 4 castles (girdles also), whose architecture is very specific, letting us imagine the paths and battles fought to get from one to the other trying to always defend the oppressed.
very sought after by collectors, it can be the subject of a magnificent gift.
