Hermès “Steam Boat of Jouffroy d’Abbans” – Ledoux, 1962
Created by Ledoux in 1962, this square pays tribute to the first steam boat imagined by the Marquis de Jouffroy d’Abbans in 1783.
It features a golden rudder, anchors, marine instruments, as well as historical details: carriage, horse, ancient weapons, and a nod to Marie Antoinette.
All set in a rococo frame adorned with cherubs and flowers.
Rich palette: navy blue, gold, red, green, and cream.
In excellent vintage condition, hand-rolled — a rare piece between art and history.
