The Hermès watch is built at La Montre Hermès, the maison's manufacture in Biel, Switzerland, since 1978. Hermès cultivates a watchmaking practice at the crossroads of Parisian design and Swiss-made standards — cases by Henri d'Origny or Philippe Mouquet, ETA movements or Vaucher manufacture calibers. Iconic models
The Heure H (1996) borrows the letter H as a case. The Cape Cod (1991) by Henri d'Origny offers the square-in-rectangle case, worn with the Double Tour leather strap. The Arceau (1978) plays asymmetric lugs. The Médor echoes the studded Collier de Chien collar. The Kelly with padlock, the Slim d'Hermès with manufacture movement, the Galop, and the Apple Watch Hermès round out the range.
Movements and straps
Swiss ETA quartz for entry models, ETA automatic for everyday pieces, and Manufacture H1837 / H1912 / H1950 (Vaucher) for complications. Interchangeable Hermès leather straps (Barenia, Box, Epsom, Swift, Alligator), or steel bracelets on sport Cape Cod. The crown and pusher often echo the signature saddle-stitched leather work.
