The Saint Jacques, named after the historical Parisian street of the Quartier Latin, is one of the most discreet structured shoppers in the Louis Vuitton catalogue. Designed in the 1990s, it is the archetypal Vuitton office bag: rectangular flat-bottomed silhouette, two short leather handles, magnetic snap closure. Saint Jacques PM, GM, Long, Shopping

The Saint Jacques PM (28 × 20 × 7.5 cm) is the compact size for essentials. The Saint Jacques GM (32 × 24 × 9 cm) takes a slim A4 file. The Saint Jacques Long (elongated) plays the elegant briefcase card. The Saint Jacques Shopping version (the last two generations) adds a gusset for tote-style use. All variants share the same base: two short handles, flat bottom, central snap closure and one large compartment.

Leathers: Epi colours, Monogram, Vernis

The Saint Jacques established itself principally in grained Epi leather: black, cherry red, mimosa yellow, lime green, Toledo blue, ivory — it is one of the pieces that carried the Epi palette through the 1990s. Discontinued colours (mimosa, Toledo) are now collected and gaining value. Limited Monogram and Monogram Vernis runs also exist. Authentication

All Saint Jacques bags pre-date 2021. The two-letter four-digit date code is heat-stamped inside, usually on a leather tab stitched to the lining or directly on the Epi leather inner panel.
