Louis Vuitton Cherry Bag — Speedy, Keepall | JoliCloset

In 2005, Louis Vuitton handed the classic monogram canvas to Takashi Murakami and let him have fun with it: the result was Monogram Cerises, the collection now nicknamed the Louis Vuitton cherry bag print for its scatter of smiling red cherries. JoliCloset currently lists 216 pieces from the collection, averaging €1,337, from the Speedy 25 to the smallest leather goods.

The 2005 Cerises collection and its pieces

The collaboration between Takashi Murakami and then-creative director Marc Jacobs produced one of the most recognizable capsule collections in Louis Vuitton's history. The Speedy 25 is the collection's signature piece, followed by the Keepall 45 for travel and the rarer Bucket bag. Small leather goods round out the range: Pochette Accessoires, Cles, the Zippy wallet, Porte-Monnaie Plat and Compact Zip, all stamped with the same cherry motif on monogram canvas.

Sizes and the rarest pieces

The Speedy came in 25cm and 30cm, but the 25 is what dominates the pre-owned market today. The Keepall 45, built for short trips, is harder to find in excellent condition because its soft canvas creases more with use. The Bucket bag and the Porte-Monnaie Plat are the scarcest pieces in the collection: produced in smaller numbers, they now command the highest prices among Cerises pieces.

Price and value on the pre-owned market

On JoliCloset, Cerises pieces trade at an average of €1,337, a price that reflects the cult status this reworked monogram has earned. Twenty years after its release, demand hasn't faded: 16 sales have already gone through on the platform, proof that these pieces keep changing hands among collectors. Small leather goods (Cles, Compact Zip, Zippy) remain the most accessible entry point, while the Bucket and a well-kept Keepall 45 sit at the top of the price range.

Authentication and condition

The cherry print only ever appeared on classic monogram canvas, never on Damier: any piece pairing cherries with Damier print should raise an immediate flag. On a genuine piece, the cherries and their smiling faces line up cleanly across seams and hold an even red tone; blurry printing or misalignment at the seams is a warning sign. The date code, two letters plus four digits, helps place the manufacturing batch but is never proof on its own: our experts also check the grain of the vachetta leather trim, which naturally patinas over time, the quality of the screen print, and the finish of every piece before it goes live.
